Drew Metz is an assistant coach for the Hofstra University men's basketball team in Hempstead, New York, and is in his second season on the staff. In 2025-26, he was part of a Hofstra team that won the Coastal Athletic Association championship, finished with 24 victories, and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001. That season also included three All-CAA selections, with Hofstra producing both the league's Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
Before joining Hofstra, Metz spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Marist. His work there coincided with the program's first MAAC Championship game appearance in 2023, its best conference tournament seed in 16 years, and its highest win totals in nearly 20 years. In 2023, Silver Waves Media named him to its "75 Rising Stars: Impactful Men's Mid-Major Assistants" list. At Marist, he handled scouting, recruiting strategy, player development, and individual workouts, and he was involved in recruiting four All-MAAC honorees.
