Drew Church is the Associate Head Coach for the Central Washington University men’s basketball program, bringing over 15 years of collegiate coaching experience. Since joining the Wildcats in 2018, he has played a key role in the program’s success, particularly as the team’s defensive coordinator. Under his guidance, Central Washington has consistently ranked among the top defensive teams in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), excelling in rebounding, field goal percentage defense, and scoring defense. His impact has helped the Wildcats achieve strong conference finishes, postseason appearances, and multiple GNAC Academic Conference Championships, reflecting success both on the court and in the classroom.
Before arriving at Central Washington, Church spent seven successful seasons at Lewis-Clark State College, where he contributed to five NAIA National Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 run, and helped the program secure multiple conference titles. During his tenure, the team achieved one of the highest winning percentages in program history and developed numerous All-Americans and professional players. Church also has experience coaching at the AAU level, mentoring dozens of athletes who advanced to collegiate basketball. As a former player, he earned all-conference honors at Columbia Basin College. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports administration from Lewis-Clark State and a master’s degree in organizational management from Wayne State College. Church resides in Ellensburg, Washington, with his wife and son.
