Doug Edwards is the Director of Player Development for the University of Massachusetts Amherst men's basketball program in Amherst, Massachusetts. He joined Frank Martin's staff in May 2022, when he was hired as Director of Player Personnel and Special Assistant to the Head Coach.
Before arriving at UMass, Edwards spent nine years at South Carolina as Director of Student-Athlete Development after serving in the same position under Martin at Kansas State. His connection with Martin dates back further to Miami Senior High School, where Martin coached Edwards from 1986-90. Edwards helped Miami Senior win two Class 4A state championships, was named Florida Mr. Basketball, and finished as the runner-up for USA Today's National High School Player of the Year.
