Donnie Vinson is the head coach of the University at Buffalo wrestling program in Buffalo, New York, a position he assumed on April 21, 2024. In his first season, Buffalo had three wrestlers place at the Mid-American Conference Championships, and five members of the program earned Academic All-MAC recognition.
A native of New York, Vinson arrived at Buffalo after three seasons as Cornell's associate head coach. From 2021 to 2024, he was part of a staff that led Cornell to three consecutive Ivy League and EIWA team championships. During that period, Cornell produced four national champions, 10 All-Americans and 12 EIWA champions, while finishing among the top seven teams at the NCAA Championships each year, including second place in 2024 and third in 2023. Among the wrestlers he coached at Cornell were Vito Arujau, who won NCAA titles at 133 pounds in 2023 and 2024, and Yianni Diakomihalis, who added two national championships at 149 pounds.
