Don Metil is the head volleyball coach at Towson University in Towson, Maryland, and entered his 13th season leading the Tigers in 2025. Hired in March 2013 as the 11th head coach in program history, he became the program's winningest coach with 244 victories, surpassing Cathy Cain. Under his direction, Towson won four straight Colonial Athletic Association tournament titles and raised its overall conference championship total to five.
Metil guided Towson through one of the strongest stretches in program history. The Tigers earned multiple NCAA Tournament berths and captured four consecutive CAA regular-season titles. In one of his recent seasons, Towson finished 24-6, recorded his ninth 20-win season at the school, earned the program's first victory over an SEC opponent with a sweep of South Carolina, and went 16-2 in conference play. He was named CAA Coach of the Year for the fifth time at Towson, and that season also included CAA Player of the Year honors for Nina Cajic along with several other all-conference selections.
