Donald Bohannon
Associate Head Coach
Donald Bohannon enters his second year as Associate Head Coach of the women’s basketball program at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) and his ninth season overall on that staff. His tenure with the Braves dates to the 2016-17 campaign when he began as a graduate assistant. Over the years, he advanced into full-time operations and coaching roles supporting both men’s and women’s squads prior to his promotion to associate head coach.
Bohannon played a key role in UNCP’s recent historic success, including the Women’s team claiming back-to-back Conference Carolinas Tournament championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2022-23 and 2023-24. During that span, the program also ranked nationally in efficiency metrics like field-goal percentage defense and scoring defense. A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Bohannon earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from UNCW in 2014 and completed his master’s in sports administration at UNCP in 2018. He also serves as an adjunct instructor in the Kinesiology Department.
