Dirceu Hurtado
Assistant Coach
Dirceu Hurtado enters his 11th season as an assistant coach with the Ramapo College men’s soccer program, bringing extensive playing and coaching experience to the Roadrunners. A recipient of the NSCAA Regional Diploma, Hurtado has been instrumental in supporting player development, recruiting, and on-field instruction within one of the NJAC’s competitive programs. Working alongside the head coach, he helps guide training sessions and tactical preparation while fostering a disciplined and competitive team culture.
A 2003 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Hurtado was a standout Division I player for the Knights from 2000–03. He earned NEC Rookie of the Year honors in his first season and was later named First Team All-NEC and First Team Mid-Atlantic Region. He also received recognition as Comeback Player of the Year by the New Jersey Sports Writers Association, Most Courageous Male Student-Athlete by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports, and the ECAC Award of Valor. Prior to FDU, he starred at Don Bosco Tech, setting a state record with 73 career goals and earning All-Conference, All-County, and All-State honors. After college, Hurtado competed with the NJ Imperials and NJ Stallions semi-professional teams before beginning his coaching career. He resides in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
