Diane Madl is the head coach of the Providence College field hockey program in Providence, Rhode Island, a position she has held since February 4, 2002. She entered the 2025-26 academic year in her 25th season leading the Friars.
Across 24 seasons at Providence, Madl has coached seven All-Americans and 66 All-BIG EAST selections, with that group including two BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year honorees and two Freshman of the Year recipients. Her players also have earned 51 NFHCA Division I All-Northeast Region honors. Providence teams under her direction also have compiled strong academic results, combining for 185 Division I National Academic Squad honors and 312 BIG EAST All-Academic Team selections.
