Diane Flick‑Williams is in her 26th season as head coach of the Western Washington University women’s volleyball program and is the most successful coach in program history. She has compiled a 530‑149 record (.781), leading the Vikings to 16 NCAA postseason appearances, 11 GNAC championships, and 17 seasons with 20 or more wins, including four consecutive conference titles from 2017–2019 and 2021. Under her leadership, WWU has advanced to multiple NCAA Final Fours and national title matches, achieving a 26‑16 postseason record and four West Regional crowns. The Vikings have also been a dominant force at home, posting a 206‑26 record in Carver Gym and maintaining multiple long winning streaks in league play.
Before joining WWU, Flick‑Williams was a standout player at the University of Washington, earning four varsity letters, team MVP honors, and ranking third in career assists while also playing part-time as an outside hitter. She later served as a UW assistant coach, helping lead the Huskies to national tournament appearances, and earned a master’s in coaching and sports administration from Concordia-Irvine. A three-sport standout in high school and hall of fame inductee, Flick‑Williams continues to shape student-athletes’ success on and off the court while raising her daughter, Chayse Mingah, a member of the WWU volleyball and softball programs.
