Prior to joining Morgan State, Pierre spent two seasons on the women’s basketball staff at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he served as assistant coach and defensive coordinator. In Arlington, he helped the Lady Mavericks record winning seasons, achieve a 12–1 home record, and earn a berth in the 2025 Women’s National Invitation Tournament, while leading UTA’s defense to rank among the WAC’s best in block and steal statistics. His earlier coaching career includes roles at Grambling State as a graduate assistant and at various levels including high school player development, where he helped develop fundamental skills for young athletes. Pierre holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Grambling State University. He lives with his wife, LaToya, and their three children: Kahlil, Haley, and David III.
