David Metzbower is the associate head men's lacrosse coach and offensive coordinator at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, a position he assumed in the summer of 2026. A seven-time national champion, he arrived at Fairfield after three seasons in the same role at the University of Denver and after leading offenses at Princeton, Loyola Maryland, and North Carolina.
At Denver, Metzbower helped the Pioneers reach Championship Weekend in 2024, the program's first Final Four appearance since 2017. That trip marked the 13th Championship Weekend appearance of his 37-year coaching career. Before Denver, he spent nine seasons at North Carolina as offensive coordinator and served as associate head coach for his final seven years there. He was named the USILA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2016 after North Carolina won its first national championship in 25 years, and he was also on staff for the Tar Heels' 2017 ACC Tournament title.
