David Barrett is the head women's soccer coach at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and entered his ninth season with the program after already establishing a long record as a collegiate head coach. Across 26 seasons as a head coach, he has compiled 320 wins, reached the NCAA Tournament 11 times, and earned eight coach of the year honors.
At Fairfield, Barrett has led the Stags to sustained success in the MAAC, including three regular-season titles and the 2024 MAAC Championship, the program's first conference tournament title in a decade. His teams posted a 33-5-3 overall record over the 2024 and 2025 seasons, including a 20-1-3 mark in conference play, giving Fairfield the highest winning percentage in Division I over that two-year span. In his Fairfield tenure, the Stags have recorded 86 wins, made seven MAAC Championship Tournament appearances, and earned the program's first national ranking when Top Drawer Soccer placed the team at No. 25 in 2025.
