Dave Klatsky
Assistant Coach
Dave Klatsky joined the Florida Gators coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2025 after a highly successful three-year tenure as head coach at New York University. At NYU, Klatsky compiled a 68-16 record, led the Violets to the 2025 Division III national championship game, and set multiple program records including 29 wins and 13 conference victories in a single season. His leadership earned him numerous accolades such as NABC Region IV Coach of the Year, D3hoops.com Coach of the Year, and MBWA Coach of the Year. During his tenure, NYU consistently ranked among the nation’s best in scoring margin, field goal percentage, and three-point defense, with standout players like Spencer Freedman gaining national recognition. Prior to NYU, Klatsky spent 11 seasons as an assistant coach at Colgate University, where he helped the Raiders capture three Patriot League Tournament titles and develop 10 All-League honorees. Earlier in his career, he was an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology, guiding the Ducks to ECAC Metro Championships. A former standout point guard at the University of Pennsylvania, Klatsky set the program’s single-season assist record and played under legendary coach Fran Dunphy. Off the court, he created StatChat, a podcast exploring basketball analytics, and has been involved in mentoring innovative startups like ShotQuality. A native of Holmdel, New Jersey, he now resides with his wife, Abby, and their three children, Harrison, Leo, and William.
