Dave DeMello is an assistant coach for the Providence College men's soccer program in Providence, Rhode Island, and entered his 24th season on the staff in 2024. He oversees day-to-day program operations while also contributing to coaching and recruiting.
Across his tenure, Providence has reached the NCAA Tournament 12 times, including a run to the second round in 2024 after advancing to the BIG EAST Championship match, sharing the BIG EAST East Division regular-season title, and winning 13 games. The Friars also reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2022 and 2019, with the 2022 team posting a 12-5-4 record and earning a place in both the BIG EAST semifinal and championship game. In 2019, Providence won 16 matches, tying the program's single-season record. DeMello was also on staff for the program's first BIG EAST regular-season title in 2016, an NCAA Elite Eight appearance that same year, the school's first BIG EAST Tournament championship in 2014, and its first NCAA College Cup berth. Providence also reached the BIG EAST final and the NCAA Tournament in 2013. He was inducted into the Rhode Island Soccer Hall of Fame on March 22, 2015.
