Daryn Miller
Assistant Coach
Daryn Miller is an assistant coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights softball program and enters his second season on the coaching staff. A veteran coach and former professional player, Miller brings experience from multiple levels of the game, including high school, junior college, and Division I softball. Since joining Rutgers, he has contributed to the continued development of the Scarlet Knights, adding depth to the coaching staff through his background in player instruction and competitive success across a wide range of settings.
Prior to Rutgers, Miller served as an interim head coach and assistant coach at Memphis, gaining Division I experience at a nationally recognized program. Before his time in Memphis, he spent six seasons at Hardin County High School in Tennessee, leading the program to multiple state tournament appearances and a third-place finish in 2022. At the collegiate level, Miller also worked at Heartland Community College, where he helped guide the team to three consecutive NJCAA National Tournament appearances, including a national championship in 2009 and a third-place finish in 2008. As a player, Miller competed collegiately at Memphis and Lake Land Community College, earning first-team all-region honors, and later enjoyed a distinguished 15-year career in Men’s Major Fastpitch softball. He was named an ASA All-American and was a three-time member of the USA National Team. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree from Memphis and a master’s degree in teaching from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
