Danny O'Connor is an assistant coach for the University of Delaware men's basketball program in Newark, Delaware, entering the 2026-27 season in his third year as an assistant and his 11th season on the Blue Hens staff overall. He was elevated to assistant coach in July 2024 after serving three seasons as director of men's basketball operations, a position he assumed in October 2021, and five earlier seasons as coordinator of player development and videography.
Across his time on the staff, Delaware won the 2022 CAA championship and reached the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2014 season. The program also produced six professional players during that span, including Nate Darling, identified by Delaware as its first NBA player. In his earlier staff assignments, O'Connor handled film and video work, assisted with scouting reports, oversaw the team's manager program, and helped run camps and clinics. He graduated from Indiana University in 2016 and lives in Wilmington.
