Danny Murphy is the associate head coach for the University of Vermont men's lacrosse program in Burlington, Vermont. He entered his fourth season with the Catamounts in 2026 after joining the staff ahead of the 2023 season.
Murphy previously spent 2022 as a volunteer assistant at Michigan and coached for two seasons at Tufts, his alma mater. In 2023, he was part of a Vermont staff that won the program's third straight America East regular-season championship. In his second season in Burlington, Vermont's offense produced 40 more goals and 13 more assists than it had in 2023, improved its goals-per-game average by nearly one, and led the conference in shooting percentage. That season, two Vermont offensive players earned America East First Team honors, and Charlie Pope was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in goals. In Murphy's third season, Vermont ranked third in the conference in assists per game and points, fourth in goals per game, and second in man-up goals per game, while Luke Reiter and Matthew Drimmie received all-conference recognition.
