Daniel Matheson serves as Coaching Assistant for Arizona State Swimming & Diving. Arizona State head coach Herbie Behm announced the hiring of Daniel Matheson on June 16, 2025 .
Matheson's background includes is one of the top distance swimmers in program history and helped Arizona State win its first national title in 2024; as a senior, Matheson helped the Sun Devils win their first Big 12 Championship with victories in the 1650 free (14:46.53) and the 500 free (4:14.37), earning two individual titles in Federal Way last February; additionally, the Arizona native helped the Sun Devils win two Pac-12 titles with six podium finishes in 2023 and 2024.
