Danielle Henderson is the head softball coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts, and is set to enter her fifth season leading the Minutewomen in 2027. She was appointed in June 2021 as the sixth head coach in program history, returning to her alma mater after seven seasons as head coach at UMass Lowell.
At UMass, Henderson has overseen several all-conference selections and postseason honors. In 2026, Odyssey Torres earned first-team all-conference recognition and Hannah Streicher was named to the second team, while Tiegan Walsh made the conference all-freshman team. Torres hit .414 in 46 games with 53 hits, 14 doubles and 25 RBI, and Streicher posted career-best pitching numbers with an 11-15 record, a 3.39 ERA, 177.1 innings and 91 strikeouts. In 2025, catcher Lydia Castro received Atlantic 10 second-team honors after batting .313 with three home runs and 23 RBI, and Brooke Musch was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team after starting 45 games and hitting .304. In 2024, Massachusetts finished with a winning conference record and reached the Atlantic 10 semifinals with tournament wins over Fordham and Saint Joseph's, while Sarah Keagy and Chloe Whittier both earned second-team all-conference honors. In Henderson's first season, freshman pitcher Julianne Bolton made the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team after recording 94 strikeouts and a 3.85 ERA, and infielder Grace Cadden was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team.
