Daniel Bowden
Assistant Coach
Daniel Bowden joined the Duke University men’s golf program in July 2025, arriving from a distinguished tenure as head coach of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) men’s golf program. At UNCW, Bowden served for eight seasons, earning three CAA Coach of the Year awards (including back-to-back honors in 2018 and 2019, and again in 2023), leading the Seahawks to three conference championships (2018, 2019, 2023) and four NCAA Regional appearances. Before his coaching career, Bowden played collegiately at Georgia Tech (as the only freshman traveling squad member in 2006-07) and then transferred to Furman University, where he earned GCAA All-America Scholar honors in 2009 and 2010 while helping the Paladins to the 2010 Southern Conference title.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration, he played five years professionally with notable finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour and the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada. At Duke, Bowden brings a winning culture, strong recruiting and player-development instincts. His role as Assistant Coach will support head coach Bob Heintz in continuing the program’s upward trajectory, leveraging Bowden’s experience in leading teams to championships and NCAA regionals to help elevate the Blue Devils’ competitive standing on the national stage.
