Daniela Vidal Romero is an assistant coach for the University of Connecticut women's tennis team in Storrs, Connecticut, joining the program for the 2025-26 season. She arrived at UConn after nearly six years at Purdue, where she served first as a volunteer assistant coach from 2018 to 2019 and then as an assistant coach from 2019 to 2025. At Purdue, her work included on-court instruction, practice planning, recruiting, and NCAA compliance. Before returning to Purdue, she was a graduate assistant coach at Eastern Michigan from 2016 to 2018 and also spent part of the summer of 2017 as the program's interim head coach.
Vidal Romero also competed collegiately at Purdue, where she reached career-high ITA rankings of No. 105 in singles and No. 24 in doubles. In 2015, she earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and received the ITA Most Improved Senior Award. Her additional honors included the ITA Arthur Ashe Jr. Sportsmanship & Leadership Award in 2014 as both a regional and national recipient, along with Purdue's Jenny Rabot Award for Team Leadership Excellence in 2014 and 2015. She earned a bachelor's degree in speech, language, and hearing sciences from Purdue in 2015 and a master's degree in sport management from Eastern Michigan in 2018.
