Dan Bailey
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach/Offensive Coordinator
Dan Bailey returned to his alma mater in the summer of 2022 to join the Queens men’s basketball coaching staff, bringing with him both a distinguished playing career and a solid coaching résumé. As a student-athlete at Queens, he left an indelible legacy: he ranks first all-time in field goals made (687) and defensive rebounds (total and per game), is second in overall rebounds (812), and third in career points (1,771). He was a three-time all-conference forward and twice named to the NABC All-District team. In his senior season, he led the team in scoring (18.0 ppg), rebounding (6.4 rpg), and shot 52% from the field. After graduating, Bailey played professionally overseas in countries including Romania, Finland, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Japan for seven years.
In 2013 he founded GameChangers Basketball Camp in Columbia, South Carolina, and in 2016 expanded into AAU coaching and skills development work in the Charlotte area, working directly with players on strategy, analytics, and fundamentals. His background in game planning, analytics, and player development made him a natural addition to the Queens staff. More recently, he joined Dan Leonard’s Team D2 in The Basketball Tournament, gaining further exposure to diverse athletes and competition. On Queens’ staff, Bailey’s responsibilities include offensive coordination, scouting, game planning, and leveraging his strengths in strategy and analytics to help elevate the program’s performance.
