Head Men's Soccer Coach
Craig Appleby became the 19th head men’s soccer coach in Johns Hopkins history in July 2008, immediately making a mark by guiding the Blue Jays to a 13-5-5 record, a Centennial Conference title game appearance, and the NCAA Sweet 16 in his first season. Over his tenure, Appleby has compiled a record of 200-72-54 (.696), currently the second most wins in program history. Under his leadership, the program has seen 10 NCAA Tournament appearances and four Centennial Conference championships, and he has mentored 88 All-Conference selections, five Players of the Year, and multiple academic and All-American honorees.
In the recent stretch from 2017 to 2024, Appleby has led Hopkins to seven straight NCAA appearances (excluding 2020), posting an impressive 99–23–26 record. In 2024, the Blue Jays went 13–3–5 and captured their 11th Centennial Conference championship. Appleby came to Hopkins after six seasons as head coach at Emory & Henry (VA), and prior roles as assistant coach at Wofford and Washington & Lee.
