Courtney Breault serves as Head Coach for University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Softball program in Charlotte, North Carolina. Courtney Breault was named head softball coach on June 24, 2024 following a five-year stint as an assistant coach at Clemson. In 2026, her second season at Charlotte and second as a head coach, Breault was able to lead the Niners to their sixth-consecutive 30+ win season with an overall record of 32-26.
The 2026 team had one of the greatest offensive performances in Charlotte Softball history, ranking first in on-base percentage (.390), second all-time in RBI (289), second in slugging percentage (.487), and third in homers (61). Charlotte had two all-region selections for the second straight season, with Jenna Lord (3B) and Audrey Wilson (C) named second and third team All Mid-Atlantic. Lord and Wilson also earned second-team All-American Conference honors as well. In her first season as a head coach, Breault led the Niners to a 30-27 overall record, which included a 17-10 record in American Conference play, which allowed Charlotte to finish third overall in the conference. The 2025 team ranked second all-time in Charlotte program history in runs scored with 315, third all-time in homers with 60, second in RBI with 276, and third all-time in slugging percentage at .467%. American Conference Player of the Year Jenna Lord as well as the 2025 American Conference Freshman of the Year Jaylah Jarrell led the Niners attack. Lord and Teagan Ritchie were also named to the NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team.
