Corey Yunker
Assistant Coach/Offensive Coordinator
Corey Yunker joined the NJIT men’s lacrosse program as assistant coach and offensive coordinator in June 2025, bringing Division I coaching and playing experience to the Highlanders’ staff. Hired by head coach Eric Wolf, Yunker is responsible for leading NJIT’s offensive system, including practice design, game planning, film analysis, and man-up strategy. His appointment reflects NJIT’s continued emphasis on building a modern, high-tempo offense within the America East Conference as the program continues its upward trajectory.
Prior to NJIT, Yunker spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Canisius College, where he worked closely with the head coach to direct the team’s offense. During his tenure, Canisius finished third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and qualified for the MAAC Tournament in 2025. His responsibilities included running offensive drills, coordinating film sessions, managing man-up units, and developing detailed scouting reports. Before Canisius, Yunker served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University at Albany during the 2023 season, assisting with offensive drills, film breakdown, and game-plan preparation as the Great Danes advanced to the America East Championship game. A former Division I student-athlete, Yunker played at UAlbany from 2018 to 2022, recording 65 goals and 30 assists in 41 games. He was named a team captain as a senior, earned America East Second Team All-Conference honors in 2022, and ranked among the national leaders in shot percentage during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. His combined experience as a high-efficiency offensive player and developing coach shapes his approach to player development at NJIT.
