Southern Miss Director of Athletics Jeremy McClain announced on June 19, 2024, the hiring of Colton Cowan as the head women's golf coach. In Cowan's first season with the Golden Eagles, he helped guide Southern Miss to arguably its best season in program history. The team notched a third-place finish in the second tournament of the season at the Hoover Invitational.
