Colleen Moriarty
Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Colleen Moriarty joined the New Jersey Institute of Technology women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in the summer of 2022. She brought with her six seasons of Division II coaching experience from Saint Anselm College, where she played a key role in one of the most successful stretches in program history. During her tenure, Saint Anselm appeared in five Northeast-10 Conference Tournaments and earned two NCAA Division II Championship berths. The highlight came during the 2018–19 season, when the Hawks captured the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II East Region title and advanced to the Elite Eight.
At Saint Anselm, Moriarty was instrumental in developing elite talent, including all-time leading scorer Peyton Steinman and Division II All-American Shannon Ryan, both of whom earned NE10 Player of the Year honors. Prior to Saint Anselm, Moriarty served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UMass Boston for two seasons, where she worked extensively with post players who went on to earn All-Region and All-Conference recognition. Her coaching career began at the grassroots level with the Bay State Monarchs AAU program and Canton High School’s varsity girls team.
A former standout student-athlete, Moriarty played four seasons at UMass Dartmouth, finishing her career with 1,219 points and earning LEC Player of the Year honors in 2013, the first in program history. A three-year team captain, she led the Corsairs to their first 20-win season and was inducted into the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Hall of Fame in 2021. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business marketing from UMass Dartmouth and completed her master’s degree in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University.
