Colin Corcoran
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach - Volleyball, Golf, Dive
Colin Corcoran is an experienced strength and conditioning coach who joined the University of Miami athletics department in August 2023 as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, where he leads performance training for the volleyball, women’s golf, and diving programs. In this role, Corcoran works to enhance athletic performance by designing and implementing sport-specific training regimens that develop strength, power, mobility, and injury resistance for Hurricanes student-athletes. His approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and collaborative coaching, contributing to the overall athletic development and competitive success of Miami’s Olympic sport teams.
Prior to his position at Miami, Corcoran spent two years as the Associate Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Wichita State University, where he oversaw strength and conditioning for multiple sports including women’s basketball, softball, and both men’s and women’s golf, and served as the primary assistant for men’s basketball. Before Wichita State, he spent nearly four years at the University of North Florida directing the strength & conditioning internship program and contributing to the athletic development of a wide array of teams including baseball, soccer, golf, swimming, tennis, track & field, and cheer. Corcoran began his career as a sports performance coach in the private sector, working with multi-sport athletes, and also gained collegiate experience as a strength & conditioning intern with the University of Oregon football program. A native of Palm Harbor, Florida, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree in physical activity and sport science from West Virginia University, and has earned certifications including CSCS, SCCC, CPSS, and TPI.
