Colby Davis
Assistant Coach
Colby Davis enters her third season as an assistant coach with the University of South Alabama women’s basketball program, primarily working with the Jaguars’ guards. The 2025–26 campaign marks her ninth overall season with the program, including her time as a student-athlete and graduate assistant. Most recently, Davis played a key role in the development of guard Rachel Leggett, who averaged 13.1 points per game, shot 54.0 percent from the field, and led the team in total points. Davis previously returned to Mobile following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Florida A&M, where she contributed to player development and recruiting efforts for the Rattlers.
Before her time at FAMU, Davis served briefly as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Pearl River Community College, overseeing recruiting, film breakdown, player development, and social media initiatives. She also worked as a graduate assistant at South Alabama, helping the Jaguars reach the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinals in 2019–20 and quarterfinals in 2020–21 while assisting in the development of multiple All-Sun Belt selections and 1,000-point scorers. A former four-year letterwinner for the Jaguars from 2013–17, Davis started 78 career games and averaged 10.2 points per game as a senior. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s degree in sport management from South Alabama.
