Cliff Moore is the assistant head coach for the West Virginia University wrestling program in Morgantown, West Virginia, and he entered his ninth season with the Mountaineers after joining the staff in 2018. His work with the program includes overseeing daily operations, assisting with team travel, and coordinating community outreach and fundraising efforts.
West Virginia has produced some of its strongest recent results during Moore's tenure. In 2026, the Mountaineers had six placewinners at the Big 12 Championships, sent six wrestlers to the NCAA Championships, and produced an NCAA All-American. The 2025 season included two Big 12 champions, five NCAA qualifiers, and another All-American. In 2024, West Virginia continued its rise by reaching double-digit dual wins for the 18th time in program history and for the first time in consecutive seasons since 1990 and 1991. The Mountaineers spent much of that year in the NWCA rankings, opened at No. 24, climbed as high as No. 17 by the end of January, and finished the regular season ranked No. 19, the program's first regular-season ranking at that point since 2005.
