Clay Jamieson has been a long-standing member of the University of Oregon athletics staff, beginning his tenure in 1998. As an athletic trainer, he is responsible for overseeing the healthcare and performance support of student-athletes across multiple programs, including men’s basketball and both men’s and women’s golf. With decades of experience in collegiate athletics, Jamieson plays a critical role in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall athlete wellness. His work supports high-level competition while ensuring athletes maintain long-term health and physical readiness throughout their collegiate careers.
Before joining Oregon, Jamieson worked at Pepperdine University, where he provided athletic training services for men’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and baseball. He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Arizona and later completed a master’s degree in exercise and movement science at Oregon while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Jamieson has continued to expand his expertise through advanced certifications and specialized training in areas such as manual therapy, functional movement, and corrective exercise. His professional experience also includes serving as an athletic trainer for the 2003 Junior National Basketball Team at the World Championships in Greece. Known for his comprehensive approach to athlete care, Jamieson remains a key contributor to Oregon’s sports medicine and performance teams.
