CJ Wilford serves as Safeties/Assistant Position Coach for University of Arkansas's Football program in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Charles Wilford is the safeties / assistant position coach for the Razorbacks after one season at Georgia State coaching the team’s safeties. Before joining the Panthers staff, Wilford served as a quality control coach at Florida for three seasons (2022-24).
Wilford joined the Florida Gators staff in 2022 as a defensive analyst, working closely with the secondary and contributing to game planning, opponent scouting and player development. His detailed approach and impact behind the scenes quickly earned him a promotion, and he was elevated to safeties coach for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Wilford helped mentor a young and dynamic Florida secondary highlighted by Jordan Castell, who was named a Freshman All-American and earned national recognition as both the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week and Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week following Florida’s win over No. 11 Tennessee in 2023. Wilford also coached Trikweze Bridges, who capped off his collegiate career by being selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, adding to Wilford’s growing list of professional former players.
