Chuck McBree
Head Coach
Chuck McBreen enters the 2025–26 season in his 28th year as head coach of the Ramapo College men’s basketball program and his 30th season overall in collegiate coaching. Since taking over in 1998–99 as the program’s first full-time head coach, he has built the Roadrunners into one of the most successful Division III programs in New Jersey, compiling a 455–249 record (.646 winning percentage). Under his leadership, Ramapo has won five NJAC Tournament Championships, seven NJAC regular-season titles, and made nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the 2018 NCAA Division III Final Four. His teams have posted 20 or more wins 10 times and frequently appeared in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. In recognition of his impact, he was inducted into the Ramapo College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019, and the Bradley Center court was named “Chuck McBreen Court” in 2024.
McBreen’s coaching honors include multiple NJAC Coach of the Year awards, NABC Atlantic Region Coach of the Year recognition, ECAC Metro Region Coach of the Year, and Metropolitan Writers Coach of the Year accolades. Prior to Ramapo, he served as an assistant coach at Division I Western Carolina University and as head coach at Union Hill High School, where he earned two Hudson County Coach of the Year honors. A 1988 Towson State University graduate, McBreen began his coaching career at North Bergen High School. Beyond coaching, he also oversees athletic scheduling for Ramapo’s intercollegiate programs, continuing to shape the college’s athletic success both on and off the court.
