Associate Head Coach

Chris Williams is in his seventh year as a collegiate coach and fifth season with the Auburn men’s golf program in 2025-26, serving his second year as Associate Head Coach. Since arriving on the Plains in 2021, Williams has played a key role alongside head coach Nick Clinard in elevating Auburn to national prominence. The Tigers captured the program’s first NCAA Championship in 2024 and have compiled multiple SEC titles, NCAA Elite Eight appearances, and top-three national finishes during his tenure. In 2024-25, Auburn posted a 166-18-1 record and won five tournaments, including a dominant 27-shot victory at the NCAA Auburn Regional. His contributions helped sustain Auburn’s position as one of the nation’s premier programs. Before joining Auburn, Williams served as an assistant coach at Marquette from 2019-21, where he helped develop BIG EAST Player of the Year and All-American Hunter Eichhorn. A highly accomplished player himself, Williams was a four-time All-American at the University of Washington and won the 2013 Ben Hogan Award as the nation’s top collegiate golfer. He also earned the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the world’s top-ranked amateur and represented the United States in the Walker Cup, Palmer Cup, and World Amateur Team Championship. After college, he competed professionally on the Mackenzie Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamérica and played in two U.S. Opens. A native of Moscow, Idaho, Williams and his wife, Liz, reside in Auburn.
