Christo Michaelson joined the Gonzaga University men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2021, bringing both playing experience at Gonzaga and a strong background in player development. A former standout midfielder for the Bulldogs from 2014 to 2017, Michaelson made nearly 60 appearances and earned All-West Coast Conference Second Team and All-Far West Region honors as a senior. His familiarity with the program and its culture has made him a valuable asset in recruiting and mentoring student-athletes, helping Gonzaga continue to compete within the West Coast Conference.
Following his collegiate career, Michaelson played professionally with Reno FC in the USL Championship and gained early coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He contributed to Jesuit High School’s state championship in 2018 and helped Corban University secure a conference title. In addition, he has been active in the club soccer scene, working with Oregon Premier to develop youth talent. His combination of collegiate, professional, and grassroots experience supports his role in recruiting and player development, while his connection to Gonzaga strengthens the program’s continuity and identity.
