Christian Mordi is an assistant coach for the Hofstra University women's basketball program in Hempstead, New York, joining the staff in June 2026. He arrived at Hofstra after three seasons as an assistant coach at Iona, where the Gaels won 42 games, including a 20-win season in 2025-26. At Iona, he worked primarily with the frontcourt and coached players including 1,000-point scorer Sierra DiAngelo, All-MAAC Second Team and All-Defensive Team selection Isabellah Middleton, and second-team honoree Zoey Ward. That season, Iona finished among the MAAC's top three in points allowed per game and had nine all-academic players on the roster.
Before Iona, Mordi spent 2020-21 at Fairleigh Dickinson as director of player development and was promoted to assistant coach before the 2021-22 season. FDU won consecutive NEC regular-season titles in 2021-22 and 2022-23, the first back-to-back championships in program history, and ranked among the national top 10 in scoring defense and three-point percentage defense in 2022-23. Earlier in his career, he was a special assistant at Kean University, where he handled film editing and worked with forwards, then served as associate head coach at Christ the King High School from 2015 to 2017, focusing on skill development, film breakdown, and scouting. He also coached 17U Elite and 16U EYBL teams for NYC Exodus. Mordi graduated from William Paterson University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in communication and media studies.
