Chris Reeder
Assistant Coach
Chris Reeder joined The College of New Jersey baseball program as an assistant coach in 2025, transitioning seamlessly from an accomplished playing career with the Lions into a developmental coaching role. In his first season on staff, Reeder took primary responsibility for coaching TCNJ’s catchers, assisted with both pitchers and hitters, and served as the team’s first base coach. His impact was quickly felt, as the Lions produced multiple All-NJAC, All-Region, and All-America selections, reflecting his detailed approach to preparation, defense, and game management. Reeder is widely regarded for his strong communication skills and ability to connect with student-athletes through his recent playing experience.
As a player at TCNJ from 2019–2024, Reeder was one of the most decorated catchers in program history. He started 157 games behind the plate, recorded 962 putouts, and finished his career with a .988 fielding percentage. Offensively, he ranked among the program’s career leaders in multiple categories and became the school’s all-time leader in hit by pitch. A two-time NJAC champion, Reeder earned Academic All-District recognition and capped his collegiate career with selection to the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team as the top defensive catcher in Division III. Following graduation, he continued his career professionally, competing in the MLB Draft League and the Frontier League. He earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and health sciences with a second major in psychology from TCNJ, bringing both academic and athletic perspective to his coaching role.
