Chris Rash
Head Soccer Coach
Mark Furnari begins his first season as Head Coach of both the men’s and women’s golf programs at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC). He arrives after a successful playing and coaching tenure that includes high-school championship teams and collegiate national-level competition. At Caledonia High School in Mississippi, Furnari was part of back-to-back Mississippi High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) Class 4A state boys’ golf championship teams in 2015 and 2016. He then continued his career at Mississippi University for Women (MUW), where he was a member of the golf team and later served as a graduate assistant. During his time at MUW, he played on a squad that finished second nationally at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association championships in 2022-23, and then helped coach athletes who earned all-conference honors, including former EMCC golfers.
While at MUW, Furnari also worked closely under Coach Benji Williams—who had previously coached at EMCC—gaining experience in all facets of a collegiate golf program, including operations, recruiting, and athlete development. Furnari holds a bachelor’s degree in general business and was repeatedly named to the MUW Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll. He is originally from Caledonia, Mississippi, the oldest of two sons of Matt and Jacque Furnari; his father is a former EMCC baseball player and current local official.
