Chris Podeszwa is an assistant coach for the University of Connecticut baseball program in Storrs, Connecticut, and has served on Jim Penders' staff since Penders became head coach in 2004. A former UConn teammate of Penders, Podeszwa works primarily with the Huskies' infielders and hitters and has been part of one of the longest-tenured staffs in Division I baseball.
Across his time at UConn, Podeszwa has been on staff for a long run of team success. The Huskies won 38 games in 2025 and claimed a fifth straight BIG EAST regular-season title, with Ryan Daniels earning BIG EAST Player of the Year and Rob Rispoli and Tyler Minick receiving all-conference recognition. UConn reached its sixth straight NCAA Tournament in 2024, won another BIG EAST regular-season championship, and advanced to the program's third Super Regional by taking the NCAA Norman Regional. In 2023, the Huskies won 44 games, captured a third consecutive BIG EAST championship, and advanced to the NCAA Gainesville Regional. The 2022 team set a program record with 50 wins and reached the school's second Super Regional after winning the NCAA College Park Regional.
