Chris Malveaux
Co-Head Coach
Chris Malveaux enters his second season as Co-Head Coach of Auburn softball in 2026, sharing leadership of the program with his wife, Kate Malveaux. The pair took over the Tigers on June 5, 2024, with Chris primarily directing Auburn’s offense. In their first season, Auburn posted 35 wins and earned its 11th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. The Tigers opened the 2025 campaign with a 20-1 start and finished 35-24 while navigating one of the nation’s toughest schedules. Auburn’s offense saw significant improvement, including a 60-point jump in slugging percentage and 68 home runs — the program’s highest total since 2022. Five players hit at least 10 home runs, and freshman AnnaLea Adams became the first Auburn freshman to earn First Team All-SEC honors.
Recognized as one of collegiate softball’s top offensive minds, Malveaux came to Auburn after helping Tennessee win back-to-back SEC regular season titles and reach the Women’s College World Series. His offenses have consistently ranked among the nation’s leaders in scoring and home runs, mentoring multiple All-Americans and All-SEC selections. A Houston native and Texas A&M graduate, Malveaux previously served as head coach at McNeese State and held assistant or associate head coaching roles at Missouri, Louisiana, Bradley, and Kansas. In 2025, he was named to the U.S. Women’s National Team Coaching Pool for the 2025–28 quad. He and Kate have two children, Gabe and Ellie.
