Chris Klevan is Stanford sailing's head coach, promoted to the role in June 2021 after two seasons as an assistant and entering his sixth year with the program in 2024-25. Under his leadership, Stanford established itself as a national force in women's sailing, sweeping the 2024 ICSA Women's Team and Fleet Race Championships and adding to a run of four national titles in 12 months.
Klevan guided Stanford to a dominant 2022-23 season that included two fleet race national championships, a singlehanded national title, three national runner-up finishes, and the program's first Leonard M. Fowle Trophy. His sailors have earned major individual honors, including Quantum Women's College Sailor of the Year recognition for Vanessa Lahrkamp, PCCSC skipper awards, and multiple ICSA All-America selections.
