Chris King serves as the associate head coach for the University of Oregon women’s soccer program, earning a promotion to the role in February 2026 after joining the Ducks in 2025. In his first season in Eugene, King played a key role in shaping one of the strongest defensive units in program history, as Oregon allowed just 21 goals while competing in the Big Ten Conference. Despite a challenging overall record, the team remained highly competitive, with the majority of matches decided by a single goal or ending in a draw, including a notable upset victory over a top-10 ranked Washington squad.
Prior to Oregon, King spent three seasons at UC Davis under head coach Tracy Joyner, contributing to a period of sustained growth that culminated in a record-setting 13-win campaign in 2024. His work included developing standout players such as goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein, who earned all-region honors and set a single-season saves record. King previously served as head coach at Academy of Art University, where he led the program to historic milestones, including its best season record and first all-region selections. With a diverse coaching background across collegiate and club levels, King brings extensive experience in player development, program building, and academic success to Oregon’s staff.
