Chris Haering is the assistant special teams coordinator for West Virginia football in Morgantown, West Virginia, a position he has held since joining the Mountaineers' staff in 2023.
At West Virginia, Haering has worked with special teams units that produced strong results across multiple seasons. In 2025, kicker Kade Hensley made 10 of 12 field goals and 31 of 32 extra points, with a long of 50 yards at Houston. In 2024, West Virginia ranked 12th among Power Four teams in kickoff return defense and 17th in kickoff returns, stood 44th nationally in net punting, and ranked fourth in the Big 12 in punt return defense. Kicker Michael Hayes II also ranked sixth among Power Four kickers in field goal percentage.
