Chris Fisk was named the head football coach at Portland State University in December 2025, becoming the 15th head coach in program history. He arrives in Portland with a proven track record of success at the collegiate level, most notably from his tenure at Central Washington University. Fisk compiled a 48–22 overall record in seven seasons as head coach, guiding the Wildcats to multiple NCAA Division II playoff appearances and conference championships. His 2025 squad finished a perfect 9–0 in Lone Star Conference play and earned a top-five national ranking, leading to his recognition as Region IV Coach of the Year. Known for his leadership and ability to develop student-athletes, Fisk brings strong ties to the Pacific Northwest and a reputation for building competitive, disciplined programs.
Before becoming a head coach, Fisk steadily developed his coaching résumé through impactful roles at several programs. He began at Central Washington as an offensive line coach before being promoted to head coach in 2019, immediately leading the team to a conference title. Prior to that, he served as co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Southern Oregon, where he helped guide the Raiders to a 2014 NAIA National Championship and one of the nation’s most explosive offenses. Fisk also spent nearly a decade at the University of Mary, including time as offensive coordinator. A former collegiate player at the University of Jamestown and Southwestern College, Fisk combines playing experience with decades of coaching expertise as he looks to revitalize the Portland State football program.
