Chris Collazo
Head Coach
Chris Collazo was named head coach of The College of New Jersey baseball program on August 4, 2025, marking his first opportunity to lead a collegiate program after more than a decade of success as an assistant coach at the Division I level. A native New Jerseyan and one of Monmouth University’s all-time great players, Collazo returned to the Garden State with a reputation for offensive innovation, elite recruiting, and player development. Prior to arriving in Ewing, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh, where he helped guide the Panthers to the highest RPI ranking in program history, seven wins over nationally ranked opponents, and their first winning season in three years. His work in offensive development and infield defense played a key role in the emergence of multiple high-level performers, including MLB Draft pick Luke Cantwell.
Collazo also served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Delaware during the 2023 season, contributing to the program’s first 30-win campaign and a return to the CAA Tournament. His longest coaching tenure came at Monmouth University from 2015 to 2022, where he recruited and coached numerous all-conference players and MLB Draft selections while helping the Hawks achieve multiple 30-win seasons and a MAAC regular-season championship. Before Monmouth, Collazo gained experience at Felician, Wagner, and Villanova. As a player, he was a standout second baseman at Monmouth, finishing his career as the program’s all-time hits leader and helping lead the Hawks to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Known for his energy, attention to detail, and championship mindset, Collazo takes over TCNJ baseball with a clear vision to build on its strong tradition and compete at the national level.
