Chris Cole is an assistant coach for the Virginia Commonwealth University men's basketball program in Richmond, Virginia, joining Phil Martelli Jr.'s staff in April 2025 after seven seasons at Bryant.
Cole spent the 2018-19 through 2024-25 seasons at Bryant, serving as an assistant coach before being elevated to associate head coach for the 2024-25 campaign. That season, Bryant won both the America East regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. He was part of a staff that built a 23-win team that went 14-2 in league play, and the program's top players included America East Player of the Year Earl Timberlake and Newcomer of the Year Barry Evans. Cole also was on staff for Bryant's 2022 team, which claimed the program's first Northeast Conference regular-season and tournament championships and earned its first NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament berth.
