Chris Carrawell
Associate Head Coach
Chris Carrawell returned to his alma mater, Duke University, in March 2018 as an assistant coach and was elevated to Associate Head Coach in June 2021. During his tenure on the Duke bench, Carrawell has played a central role in guiding front-court development and coordinating the offensive scheme under head coach Jon Scheyer. The Blue Devils have compiled a formidable record during his time on staff, including 258–48 in six years, a Final Four appearance in 2022, and multiple ACC tournament and regular-season championships.
As a player for Duke from 1996–2000, Carrawell distinguished himself as a two-time All-ACC selection and was named ACC Player of the Year in 2000. His leadership as a senior captain helped the Blue Devils reach the Final Four in 1999 and secure one of the most dominant records in program history with a 37-2 season. After being drafted in the second round by the San Antonio Spurs in 2000, he extended his career overseas and in the NBA Development League. Carrawell’s coaching trajectory includes a four-year stint at Marquette University and roles in the D-League prior to his return to Duke. On-campus, he is known not only for his basketball acumen but also for the continuity he brings from his storied playing days into his coaching career.
