Chris Barclay is the assistant coach for running backs and run game coordinator for the University of Louisville football program in Louisville, Kentucky, a position he took in December 2022. A Louisville native and former NFL running back, he entered the job after previous stops at Purdue, Western Kentucky, Marshall, William & Mary, and Wake Forest.
Barclay began his college coaching career as a graduate assistant at Wake Forest in 2011, then coached running backs at William & Mary before spending the 2014 and 2015 seasons at Marshall. At Marshall, he coached Devon Johnson to a 1,767-yard, 17-touchdown season in 2014 after Johnson moved from tight end to running back. That year, Marshall led its conference in rushing yards per game, rushing touchdowns, and yards per carry.
