Chelsea Banbury is the head coach of the Virginia Commonwealth University women's basketball program in Richmond, Virginia, a position she assumed on March 31, 2026. She became the 14th head coach in program history after seven seasons leading High Point.
At High Point, Banbury compiled a 140-79 overall record and led the Panthers to four Big South regular-season championships, three conference tournament titles, and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Her final stretch there was especially successful, as High Point won three straight Big South regular-season titles and reached the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons. In 2025-26, the Panthers finished 27-6, captured both the regular-season and tournament crowns in the Big South, and earned another NCAA berth.
