Charles Papendick
Head Coach
Charles Papendick is the esteemed Head Coach of the men’s golf program at Stevens Institute of Technology, having taken the helm in 2017 and leading the Ducks through a period of sustained success into the 2025-26 season. Under his guidance, Stevens has become a perennial contender in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom, securing five straight MAC Freedom championships and corresponding NCAA Tournament appearances through the 2024-25 season. During this stretch, the Ducks posted five consecutive Top-40 finishes at the NCAA Tournament, with a 35th-place result in 2024-25 being the most recent. Papendick’s leadership has earned him MAC Coach of the Year honors multiple times, reflecting his impact on both competitive performance and program culture.
Papendick’s influence extends beyond competition results. Early in his tenure, he guided Stevens to its first-ever NCAA Championship appearance after winning the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship in 2020-21. He also holds the program record for career tournament victories. Off the course, Papendick has been recognized repeatedly with GCAA President’s Special Recognition Awards, highlighting his contributions to collegiate golf. Prior to coaching at Stevens, he had a distinguished amateur golf background and served in leadership roles at Old Tappan Golf Club in New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate studies in communications and advertising at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he also competed as a baseball pitcher.
